Accounting/Financial Aid Assistant
The Culinary Institute of America's San Antonio's campus located in San Antonio, TX is seeking an individual to assist with preparation of student files for evaluation of financial aid, and works with Hyde Park Financial Aid office to ensure adherence to Federal regulations. Assists San Antonio and Hyde Park staff with yield process. This individual is also responsible for creating and tracking budget for expenditures, identifying cost savings, and providing analysis of areas needing improvement, and preparing monthly financial analysis.
Responsibilities include:
- Collects all required documentation to complete financial aid review.
- Ensures that Federal Stafford Loan documentation, such as Master Promissory Note, Entrance Counseling Form, Exit Counseling Form as well as verification documentation are completed by the student according to Federal regulations, and in a timely manner.
- Works with Greystone and Hyde Park Admissions and Financial Aid Offices as part of HTM (High Touch Maintenance) team to ensure that admits yield to enroll.
- Notifies Hyde Park FAO about leaves of absence and withdrawals in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoots loan issues.
- Ensures that current students' concerns about financial aid issues are channeled to the appropriate staff member or office in Hyde Park.
- Advises prospective students on financial aid filing process.
- Advises admitted students on arrangements to cover balance owed.
- Performs any combination of the following: calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
- Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, reconcile bank statements.
- Prepares detailed spreadsheets and reports.
Required Qualifications:
- One–two years experience in Accounting and Financial Aid operations.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, etc.
- Sharp customer focus, ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree – Accounting preferred.
- Familiarity with PowerFAIDS.
- Experience with basic accounting software.
