Curriculum Designer

The Culinary Institute of America, the world's premier culinary college, is seeking a Curriculum Designer who will be responsible for writing and developing course materials used within the Continuing Education department, and assisting the Curriculum Manager on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of curricula for the three Continuing Education divisions – ProChef/catalog courses for professional chefs, food enthusiasts classes for amateurs, and CIA Consulting for industry programs.
  • Assist in the improvement of existing curricula through incorporation of instructor feedback, written evaluations, and additional research.
  • Perform editorial duties such as revising text and recipes for student/client relevancy, as well as for grammatical and formatting purposes.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties (i.e. track inventory of course materials and electronic equipment, typing, recipe and data entry, filing, etc.).
  • Assist the Curriculum Manager as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate in hospitality or education-related program.
  • Culinary Arts/ Baking & Pasty education.
  • Minimum three years experience.
  • Computer skills (PC) – Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid writing, communication, and organizational skills, including a strong attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience strongly encouraged
