Planning Ahead

We understand that planning for your child's education can be confusing. Rest assured. The CIA will guide you through the process and help you explore all of your financial options. And, unlike many schools, when we design your child's award package, we make every effort to keep the financial aid at the same level each year so you can better budget for his or her education.

The CIA offers a full range of financial aid programs that can help you afford CIA excellence. Qualified students—more than 90% of current CIA students—receive aid such as the scholarships, grants, loans, and/or Federal Work-Study programs. In fact, freshmen at the CIA were awarded more than $23 million in financial aid last year. And once students are enrolled, they will be able to apply for additional scholarships created by the CIA's many generous supporters.

We know cost can be a factor when helping your child choose a college. But it's only one thing you should consider. Remember, you're not only making an investment in higher education, but in your child's future earning and opportunities. So be sure to choose the college that will give your child the best return.

When you and your child are ready to sumit an application to the CIA, here are a few helpful reminders:

• The CIA offers four enrollment seasons with a total of 16 entry dates throughout the year, for its degree programs, so you can select the one that's right for you.
  
  
• The SATs are strongly recommended, but are not required.
  
  
• All candidates are required to have at least six months of hands-on food preparation experience in a non-fast food environment prior to entering the CIA.
  
  Please note: Prospective students do not need foodservice experience to apply for admission—the requirement must be met before entering the CIA.
