At The Culinary Institute of America, you'll be totally immersed in food. Start with our comprehensive studies of cuisines that prepare you professionally and develop your palate. Choose from a broad array of global menu offerings every day in our dining plans. And savor unparalleled real-world restaurant experiences right on campus.
Meal Plan Extraordinaire
Food is a big part of your life, so you're really going to love this meal plan. The food you'll be eating on a daily basis offers a full breadth of global cuisines, a variety you simply won't find at other culinary schools.
Depending on which program you're in, you may choose from Cuisines of the Americas such as Guava-glazed Pork Ribs, Red Snapper "Florribean" style, and a Cuban Sandwich; Asian selections like a Sushi Platter, Beef Teriyaki, and Shrimp Tempura; or Italian flavors including Sea Bass with a Sicilian Olive Sauce, Fresh Egg and Spinach Pasta, and Potato Gnocchi with Sun-dried Tomato Sauce.
Baking & pastry students create a similarly broad and exciting range of breads, pastries, and desserts for student dining. You might enjoy treats like Butter Croissants, Apple and Walnut Sourdough, and Citrus Shortbread Cookies; or taste elegant desserts such as Chocolate Sabayon Torte, Gateau St. Honoré, Lemon Curd Tartlets, and Strawberry Napoleons.
Meals at the CIA are an amazing way to not only learn about global cuisines, but to truly enjoy your dining experience every day. It's a total food immersion like no other.
On-Campus Restaurant Experience
As a degree or certificate program student, you'll have the chance to learn on the job—in both the front and back of the house—thanks to our on-campus public restaurants. Whether it's putting your cooking techniques and knowledge of ingredients into action or applying your service and hospitality skills, there's nothing quite like the true hands-on experience you get from a real restaurant setting.
